10 Drones That Will Help You Boost Your Real Estate Business

Drones are slowly but surely making their way into many industries. One of the key ones is certainly real estate. Since drones are able to capture incredible shots of real estates, more and more people who are in the real estate business invest in drones as their primary source of photography. This comes as no surprise since there’s a tough competition, and being innovative is of utter importance. But unfortunately, the drone market is so big and contains a ton of different models, making it rather complex to find the best drone for real estate business.

If you don’t know much about drones, you might end up choosing the wrong one…. and that is exactly things get tricky. Luckily, we went through the entire market and found some of the best ones out there. So with this being said, we would like to present you with the top 10 drones for real estate agents. These drones are likely the key to your success so make sure you carefully read through each and every one of them!

How are drones influencing real estate industry?

Believe it or not, drones are having a massive impact on real estate industry. As a matter of fact, some people are referring to the industry as before and after drones. Yes, the change is that significant! But why is that so? Well, first of all, you need to understand just what drones are able to bring to both real estate agents/companies and their respective customers as well. They both greatly profit from the introduction of drones. How?

Well, on the company/agent side, they’re able to give their potential customers a better perspective of a property. Whether we’re talking about aerial views or indoor tours – drones are able to do everything with a brand new point of view that customers are enjoying at the moment. Additionally, they also improve the competitiveness of an agent/company on the market, drastically increasing the chances of landing deals.

On the other hand, drone footage allows customers to see more things on a property. For example, with proper drone aerial orbit footage around a certain property, potential customers can thoroughly inspect the roof, property orientation, joinery quality and much more. When it comes to indoor footage, virtual drone tours are a great way of delivering uncompromised property appearance directly to the customer.

What are the main benefits of using drones for real estate?

Let’s take a closer look at some of their advantages mentioned above:

Aerial footage
Obviously, the first thing most real estate agents go for, once they acquire their brand new drone, is a quick photo session/aerial video of a certain property for sale. Needless to say, this will increase their chance of selling it as more and more customers are thrilled with watching aerial videography… especially in the real estate business!
Indoor guides
Another great thing with drones in real estate is their ability to record outstanding indoor videos, much better than traditional handheld cameras. Whether you’re aiming to make a personalized guide for a specific buyer or a well-versed tour of the property, drone with a decent camera is bound to help you out.
Virtual tours
Probably the most interesting thing you can do is mount a 360-degree camera on your drone (you’ll need one of those bulkier and more expensive drones that have a lot of lifting power) and take it for a spin inside the house. What this will do is essentially give your potential buyers a specialized virtual tour they can engage either on their laptop/PC/smartphone or via VR headsets. Undoubtedly, the latter brings a much more immersive experience.

Are drones really that helpful?

For those of you who are still wondering whether or not to buy a drone for real estate, I’d like to assure you further… You see, as the real estate industry grows and goes forward, I am sure many more agents/companies are going to be forced into purchasing drones. So, this is how you should look at it – you can either adopt this new technology quickly and earn from it while it’s still not so common… or you can wait until it becomes standard practice and lose a bunch of money you could’ve earned with it. At the end of the day, it’s solely up to you… but I think I made my point and explained why drones are needed if you want to run a successful RE business.

10. XIRO Xplorer V

xiro-xplorer-g-versionTo start this list off we have XIRO Xplorer. This sleek-looking drone provides with a ton of fun and features a solid camera which is basically 2 main reasons why it’s featured here.

For those of you who don’t know, XIRO Xplorer is a drone that comes in 2 different versions – G and V. The V version (one I’m featuring in this list) of this drone comes with a full HD camera capable of recording great quality videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second. The gimbal (it’s available for purchase separately) makes up for incredible picture smoothness that you will greatly appreciate. It supports FPV as well, although it does not come with a built-in display. In order to utilize its FPV ability, you will have to connect your smartphone which is not that big of a hassle.

The Xplorer V features follow me and circle around me modes that can help you with your recordings. You simply have to walk around the area of the real estate you are trying to record and viola – Xiro Xplorer V will do it for you. In terms of specifications, it has 500 meters of control range and up to 25 minutes of flight time. Not bad for its price which is somewhere around $450.

9. Parrot Bebop 2

parrot-bebop-2The second model (from the top obviously) on this list is Bebop 2 by Parrot. This insanely popular drone offers pretty much everything you could ask for from the perspective of a real estate agent. There’s FPV, solid FHD camera and even support for VR goggles. With all that hiding inside an awesome packaging, there’s no surprise to see Parrot Bebop 2 selling so well.

Truthfully, the real fun with Parrot Bebop 2 kicks off once you pair it up with its Skycontroller. Not only does it boost its operating range to roughly 2 kilometers but it also gives you a much better feel for the controls. Sure, you can keep using the smartphone app but realistically speaking here, it cannot even be compared to the Skycontroller. Moving forward, I’d like to turn your attention towards its built-in FHD camera. 14MPX sensor with 3-axis integrated stabilization system. Needless to say, this camera is fantastic for both FPV and onboard DVR too.

Moving onto the specifications – As I have mentioned above, Parrot Bebop 2 has 2 kilometers range with Skycontroller and roughly 25 minutes of flight time. Both those numbers are outstanding in their own right so nothing special to add here. All things considered, if you are looking for a stable drone that can boost your real estate business, it’s quite clear that Parrot Bebop 2 is a great option.

8. Yuneec Q500

yuneec-q500-4kYuneec has already made quite a name for itself with a line of ground breaking drones. One of their premium models (can go side to side with Typhoon H Pro), the Q500 is proving to be a great mid-price range drone with outstanding specifications.

If you are worried that it might be all show and no go, Yuneec Q500 will definitely surprise you. You see, it can travel up to 800 meters away from its transmitter and lasts for around 25 minutes which is amazing, especially considering it has a fully-fledged 12MPX camera. And let me tell you, that camera is no joke – it is capable of shooting 4K videos at 30FPS. Decrease the resolution to full HD and you’ll get the option of shooting videos in slow motion at 120frames per second… And we can all agree that a bit of slow motion footage could turn your RE business from good to freaking outstanding!

Lastly, I’d like to add that Yuneec Q500 comes with a great ST10+ transmitter featuring a steady grip, making sure you never miss a perfect shot of your desired property. All in all, I believe it’s pretty clear that Yuneec is bound to stay right where they are – at the very top of the drone industry.

7. DJI Phantom 3 Professional

We have come to the first DJI’s product in this list (there’s going to be a lot more of them down below) and it is, of course, the Professional version of third DJI’s Phantom installment. Has it aged well and what exactly does it bring to the table? All that and more can be read in the next 2 paragraphs!

The Professional version of DJI Phantom 3 comes with a state-of-the-art 4K camera capable of providing you with extraordinary footage quality, while at the same time giving you a live FPV feed. Not only that, but the camera also shoots crisp clear footage with a bit of help from the 3-axis gimbal it is mounted on. With about 23 minutes of flight time and more than 5 kilometers of lag-free range, the Phantom 3 Professional is truly an exceptional drone across all departments.

Of course, this comes as no surprise since DJI is the most popular drone manufacturer in the world, and you don’t get there by making mediocre models, that’s for sure! So, if I were to sum up with a conclusion here, I’d say something like “DJI Phantom 3 Pro has definitely aged well and is still a worthy competitor in upper brackets…”

6. Yuneec Typhoon H

yuneec-typhoon-hYuneec’s ultimate drone, the Typhoon H Pro costs a whole bunch of money… But, truth be told, it justifies its massive price tag by providing you with excellent features for both home and business scenarios… even more so for real estate purposes. You see Yuneec Typhoon H sports a built-in collision avoidance system in collaboration with Intel and their RealSense Technology, making the drone fly seamlessly through the air with silk smooth ease. This will make both indoor and outdoor flying a breeze since you don’t have to worry about damaging the property you are trying to film.

You’re a real estate agent so one of the things you’re most interested in is surely the camera. Don’t worry, it has a state-of-the-art 4K camera mounted on a 360 anti-vibration gimbal which are, together, capable of providing you with professional quality images and videos.

Also, Yuneec Typhoon H also comes with a top-notch ST16 transmitter with a massive built-in display (7 inches diagonally) powered by Android. This means you don’t need your smartphone for controlling, turning on/off or getting FPV feed. It’s all done with the controller itself. Specification-wise, with default batteries it can last up to 25 minutes in the air and can fly up to 1.5 kilometers away from its dedicated ST16 transmitter.

5. DJI Mavic Pro

mavic-proIf you are constantly on the lookout for fresh property deals, photo session opportunities, and meetings with potential buyers, chances are high you’re not able to carry a big clunky drone around with you. If that’s really the case, then DJI Mavic Pro might just be the drone you are looking for.

This little fella is actually foldable which makes it extra compact and gives it an amazing amount of mobility. It’s super easy to unfold and prepare it for takeoff. What’s even better, it has a mechanical gimbal (3-axis) along with a 4K camera that is going to help you get that perfect shot every time. Other than that, it is important to add that it has GPS and GLONASS systems built-in, making it fly through the air seamlessly while providing you with silk smooth footage.

With a whopping 7 kilometers of flight range and obstacle avoidance sensors, you’ll never have to worry about it going out of range. Combine this with more than 27 minutes of flight time and you will begin to understand why Mavic Pro made its way onto this list. Many will say this is the best drone for real estate photography, do you agree?

4. Autel Robotics X-Star Premium

autel-robotics-x-star-premium4th place on our list goes to a very special drone that’s quite dear to my heart. I’m talking about Autel Robotics X-Star Premium, one of my favorite drones ever. I had it for quite a while and was thrilled with its performance. So, for all of you looking for a slightly lesser-known premium model, Autel Robotics X-Star Premium might be all the craze!

This gigantic drone offers great value for money which is a rare occurrence in higher price tiers. X-Star Premium costs significantly less than DJI Phantom 4 Pro but is somewhat on point in terms of performance it offers. You see, Autel Robotics paired this baby up with a top-flight 4K camera and 3-axis gimbal combo. The image/video quality is nothing short of brilliant. The sensor takes in a decent amount of light meaning it’s great for those awesome sunset property shots.

Moving forward, it’s also noteworthy to add X-Star Premium’s most useful features such as GPS/GLONASS, one key return, and SecureFly magnetic interference protection. Sure, there are plenty more of those within the Starlink app so you’ll need to familiarize yourself with it before jumping straight to action. Last but not least, specifications… Autel Robotics X-Star Premium can go up to 2 kilometers and fly for around 20-25 minutes; both numbers appropriate for real estate purposes. So, with all that taken into consideration, I believe I’ve made a good job with portraying one of my dearest drones ever. If you are, by any chance, thinking of buying it, you can rest assured it will serve your loyaly!

3. DJI Phantom 4 Pro

phantom-4And what is there left to be told about this beast, except that it’s the perfect drone for real estate agents! It is THE BEST aerial photography platform in terms of price and performance… and most likely the all-around best mainstream drone currently available. Although, please note that it’s been getting a lot of competition lately, but mostly by its fellow DJI counterpart – the Mavic Pro.

If you are considering to buy DJI Phantom 4 Pro, you need to know that you’ll be getting a top-quality model that is bound to improve your business, especially if you are in the real estate industry. While we are at it, did you know that more and more real estate agents are opting for this particular drone? Yup, it’s true! This 27 minutes of flight time and 5 kilometers’ flight distance beast is growing more popular with each passing day. Not surprising considering it has everything you guys need – excellent 4K camera, great image and flight stabilizationautonomous flight modes and a bunch of other features that will surely come in handy when you need them the most.

Even though I already mentioned its camera, it’ so good that I need to dedicate a few extra words for it. We are talking about a 1-inch CMOS sensor which is a brand new commodity in the drones market (Zenmuse X4S FTW!!!). Also, it’s mounted on a 3-axis gimbal for extra stability, although I’m sure most of you knew this already. All in all, if you’re serious about your real estate business and you are looking for something that’s already tested out and proved good – DJI Phantom 4 Pro could be all yours…

2. Yuneec Tornado

Yuneec TornadoSimilar to DJI Inspire (that’s the top drone on this list), Yuneec Tornado is also a drone built for professionals. It’s bulky, huge and can pretty much carry half of your photography gear with ease. This hefty fella comes at an unbelievable price though… and I don’t mean that in a funny way. It’s priced at more than 3 thousand bucks which I consider to be a huge sum. Of course, for big real estate companies and successful agents, these sorts of numbers don’t really matter. What matters for them is performance… And can Yuneec Tornado perform well? Let’s take a closer look and see!

First of all, it needs to be said that we are talking about a hexacopter here. Yuneec Tornado (codename H920) offers unparalleled stability and image quality that we rarely have a chance to see. It’s paired up with Panasonic GH4 camera with a hardware stabilization system in the form of a 3-axis gimbal. Moreover, with superior flight stability and a plethora of functions thanks to its Android-powered ST24 transmitter, there is no doubt Yuneec Tornado will take good care of all your RE needs.

Moving forward, Yuneec Tornado has decent specifications too. It can handle strong winds with speeds up to 25mph. Likewise, the dedicated battery can hold Yuneec Tornado in the air for up to 24 minutes. Range-wise, you’re looking at roughly 1 kilometer which is kind of a drawback considering everything else. Still, if I said anything other than this drone is outright awesome I’d be lying my fat ass off. It’s pretty clear Yuneec Tornado is a well-built drone aimed primarily at professionals. I’ll even go out on a limb here and say that causal users neither have the knowledge or money to get this thing…

1. DJI Inspire 2

dji_inspire_2_webDJI Inspire 2 is the most obvious of choices for the best real estate drone currently available on the market. Come to think of it, you can probably consider it the superior aerial photography platform for virtually all usage scenarios. But, why is it so good? Is it because of that cool shapeshifting effect? Of course not, you silly! Here’s the real deal…

DJI Inspire 2 is an absolute beast across all departments. I mean, just look at its official specifications sheet. It weighs in at 3.44 kilograms (equivalent to 7.58 pounds) with maximum takeoff weight being at 4 kilograms (8.82 pounds). Moreover, max speed is 58mph, max range 5 kilometers and max flight time hovers from 25 to 27 minutes, depending on how you’re using it and what type of camera is mounted.

Talking about cameras, you can get DJI Inspire 2 with either Zenmuse X4S and X5S. Obviously, they’re both excellent cameras and can provide excellent aerial photos and videos. I’m talking about 5.2K raw footage with pure hardware stabilization and a ton of image customizability. Why? Because DJI Inspire 2 is a professionally built aerial photography platform for professional aerial photographers. It’s simple as that! And, if you think something like this would help your real estate business, then I can assure you – you are definitely right!

And there you have it guys. Those were the top 10 best drones suitable for real estate purposes. As you could see with your own two eyes, the ever-growing drone market is expanding at a rapid rate, complicating things for potential buyers.
